A Little Tidbit about Myself
Hello 6th graders! Welcome to middle school. It may seem like you're the "new kids on the block" now, but you'll be running this place in no time! This is my first year teaching Language Arts at Conway Middle School. Prior to a career in education, I worked on my master's degree in Liberal Studies at Rollins College in Winter Park. I knew in 2nd grade that I wanted to become a teacher, and now my dream has come true. I'm excited to begin this journey with all of you.
I am a native Floridian, born in Clearwater. I have lived in Central Florida for 18 years. I've been married to my husband, Scott, a business owner and operator, since July 2012. Scott loves football (any NFL team that Tebow plays for and the Florida Gators), fishing, boating, and his four awesome girls (lucky guy). Scott graduated from the University of Florida with his MBA in 2008. We have the cutest, sweetest and coolest girls...Riley, an 8 year old Mastiff mix, Bailey, a 2 year old Goldendoodle, and Sophia, a 7 year old Siamese cat.
If I have free time available, I enjoy baking desserts, reading, and running. My husband and I love watching football, spending time on the lake with our dogs, riding our bikes on the beach in his hometown of Ormond Beach, and vacationing. Our last trip was to St. Thomas for our honeymoon. The island was beautiful and the water was the clearest we have ever seen! I love country and classic rock music, but my favorite singers/groups are Guns N Roses, Eric Church, and Pink Floyd. I try to spend as much time with my parents as possible. My mom and I love to ride her horses and go to the movies. My dad and I like to go for road trips on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. As you can tell, I love the outdoors. My husband and I invite our friends and family over for BBQs as much as possible. The best moments in life are the ones spent with loved ones.
I look forward to having you in class. It's going to be a great year!
